I feel for these people. I am from Trinidad and we had a horrible earthquake a few weeks ago. I said that I preferred a Hurricane to an earthquake because at least you get a warning for the hurricane. With the earthquake you get no warning. After seeing this. I don't prefer any of them. This is so sad. So much disaster all over the world and yet people still continue to be unkind and hurt and harm people. When will we learn to live in peace? I pray that anyone who is experiencing any type of pain or d...

hope art thoughts and prayers do nothing? Ok let’s not put any thought into events like this. Let’s ignore it. Let’s not give this ANY thought at all. Let the town fend for its self. You’re right ,

Sooooo is this a turning point of how we build buildings near the ocean. Seems like EVERYTHING needs to be tied down and also what about power lines??? Do we need to find a better way to build power lines so that they are protected during major storms???Also why aren't the windows hurricane proof,, if you live near the ocean it should be in building codes..so much destruction..ya know the trees do the most damage ,so what next????

  • lkee mclinee

@Jules well fact is that its expensive to build safe buildings that can withstand high winds, ...home or BUSINESS..and its job security for natural disasters...there's plenty of money to be made in the cleanup and new home construction...!!!

@Ty JohnsonIs that how taxes work? When powerlines need building they start shaking taxpayers for every dime they have? Also, are taxpayers paying to build every building? Private businesses don't do that for themselves?
