So glad I went with you and bought my project Audi S5 at Copart

+NickZtech What did you pay for everything after inspection? I am,actually really curious. I saved only about 12k more or less compared to used cars on the marker, spent a little more than I wanted. Also by the way what did you do about the airbag module? Did you replace it or did you end up using VCDS to fix it, kind of need to know this right now lol.

Dave ThaBoss my final bid was 4950. And believe me I do not buy mechanical damages. However from my experience with Copart, I was confident in buying it because the car was being sold by insurance and was of course bc of front end damage. Best case for it not starting is the battery is hard to jump on Audi’s so I find a lot are non run and drive for that reason. Worst case would be the serpentine belt and some pulleys breaking which was the case. I knew it couldn’t be bad because it only has 31k miles ...

Ferrari California got sold because wife wanted it blue

  • Ortistic

     (Jan 30, 2019)

The blue could’ve been a Ferrari only paint that is hard to replicate or something

+X54 Ak47 He's paying people to fix it and I doubt it will be less expensive than buying one that has never been wrecked.

Ferrari— Because it was sitting on the lot to long and no one had enough to get so they send it over to auction

Shawn Hicks I suppose but it’s unpopular to the public who don’t own it which means you don’t get as much attention as say a 488 , so it puts people off buying the car.

  • Shawn Hicks

     (Feb 13, 2019)

+Ongoing Blaze The California line is the most popular model line Ferrari has ever sold. It does get a lot of hate, and i attribute that to the fact that it is a front engined v8 grand touring car and not a v12. Had the California been released with the popular v12 nearly all other grand touring Ferrari's have it wouldn't receive near the hate it does from ferrari purist. The example shown in the video happens to be one of the best in the line up the California 30 (30 kilograms less weight and 30 more ...

When insurance companies repair a car, they have to use brand new OEM parts. In the case of the AMG, they'd have to buy every single panel, nut, bolt, mechanism, screw, etc etc in the door and that adds up very quickly,to very large amounts. They can't just go to an auto wrecker and buy a used, complete door for $1k or whatever.Plus, in painting it'd be almost impossible to perfectly match the paint,so to be painted to a high standard, the entire thing has to be painted- remove all trim, door handles,badges,...

  • Stu West

Daver, not only that but the A-pillar and door frame is wonky. It needs a fair amount of body work.

  • Daver G

     (Feb 13, 2019)

+MrMegacone Yes I realize that. But on high end cars you can't have paint ridges, tape lines, nor obvious blending. And I'm sure you realize how it is almost impossible to match pearls.

75g for a farrari, another 100g for the repairs lol
