Venezuelans are fleeing their home because of a severe economic crisis under President Nicolas Maduro. There are high inflation rates and there isn’t enough food available for people within Venezuela to even eat. Thousands of Venezuelans cross the Simon Bolivar bridge located at Cúcuta every day and Colombia doesn’t seem to be turning anyone way. This borders episode looks at why Colombia doesn’t turn away these refugees, the shared history of the two nations and how there may be a limit to Colombia’s acceptance of incoming Venezuelans.Vox Borders is an international documentary series by Emmy-nominated producer Johnny Harris exploring life at the edge of nations. Seems no one is mentioning that US sanction is the main reason why Venezuela's economy got so bad in the first place... Maybe a simpler solution to this humanitarian crisis is simply asking the US to lift their sanctions. ㄟ( ▔, ▔ )ㄏ

Only 1 million? Venezuela has taken in 4-6 million Colombians in the years before and given them citizenship. Many of the ones returning are actually Colombians.

We Colombians are brought up with the mentality of “help your neighbor” ...if you know someone is struggling, you don’t ask if they need help, you go and help, it could be with food, some money or helping around the house if the lady of the house was sick and struggling to keep up. Is the way we are. My heart is broken for Venezuela 🇻🇪 prayers.

Really? What part of Colombia are you from? You don't sound like you're from Bogotá. People are extremely selfish there.
