I have been thinking and wondering something. If it TRULY is not harmful for a country to allow such a thing why is it that EVERY other country in the world makes it very difficult to immigrate to. If it makes the economy etc sooo much better then wouldn't every other country be opening it's borders as well! I have just never thought of it that way makes me wonder.

Those new businesses have been started overwhelmingly by the SKILLED migrants mostly coming from China, India and other such countries not by those coming down from the southern border. Nobody in his/her right mind opposing migration of skilled people. However, Democrats want those unskilled Latinos because they know they would vote for them.

The obsession over "illegal" immigration is the con of the century.

The narrative that immigrants take jobs and/or reduce wages for citizens, is a lie perpetuated by the very people who want to reduce worker's wages. Take a moment to think about it; If increasing population reduced jobs, wouldn't there now be 99%+ unemployment? The people who benefit from exploitation want to maintain the status quo in order to make immigrants easier to exploit (note how law enforcement rarely goes after the employers)

Making immigrants easier to exploit, makes it easier to exploit you. By simply giving everyone entering the country a free ID and tax number, they will be much harder to exploit because they will be able to report employers who cheat workers without fear of deportation.

Also, there is going to be a massive shortage of skilled trades people due to American's obsession with college. What better way to fill the void than with non-college educated workers from poor countries.

The best way to end illegal immigration is to stop making immigration illegal. By any economic measure, immigration is a net plus. We need to stop putting up barriers, and give everyone who wants to enter a free ID and non-citizen taxpayer number so we can tax them to cover the costs of immigration. Once we stop wasting time and resources harassing good people, we can concentrate law enforcement on the really bad players.

    Don't but the lie.

Why do they always mention Mexico 'for instance'? There are MILLIONS of ILLEGAL immigrants from another countries, Canada, Europe, Asia, South America, etc.

Higher priority to merit based immigration! No citizenship unless a person speaks English. And not a joke of an exam administered now. That would solve all the negatives. And most Dreamers would qualify on a merit basis.

Official statistics: 95 % of the immigrants who came to Sweden in 2015 are still unemployed! The consequences are catastrophic already. Imagine what happens during the coming economic downturn.
