Zhanyi Chili Chicken is one of representative Yunnan dishes. It enjoys a history of over one hundred years and is cooked differently from Sichuan-flavored Chili Chicken. Chili is first boiled before being pounded and thus called glutinous chili. With a unique flavor, it is spicy yet not pungent. Accompanied with a bowl of vegetable soup and several home-cooked dishes, it is low-profile, not luxury and satisfying.
